Graphical Abstract: The crystal structure of 1,5-bis(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene) carbonohydrazide was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction study. In solid-state the molecule adopts the anti keto conformation, while NMR studies proved evidence on the presence of its syn tautomer in DMSO solution.

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract:
A heterometal complex [RuIIRuIII(n-C3H7COO)4AuIII(CN)4]n was synthesized. The X-ray crystallography elucidated a chain molecule of alternating arrangement of Ru2(n-C3H7COO)4+ and Au(CN)4– units with cis-bridging mode. Magnetic susceptibility data showed that magnetic interaction between RuIIRuIII units (S= 3/2) is negligible small with a zero-field splitting parameter D of 60 cm–1

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract:
The use of a pillar bridging ligand coordinating through two imidazole rings and multidentate carboxylate ligand with zinc(II) generates a bidimentional coordination polymer {[Zn3(BIBPh)3(BTC)2]∙H2O}n. It has been structurally characterised and investigated by IR and thermogravimetric methods. Each metal ion is four coordinated exhibiting a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination.

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract:
Two coordinating compounds of zinc(II) (1) [Zn2(DAnH2)2(1,3-bdc)2(DMSO)4] and nickel(II) (2) [Ni(DAnH2)(1,4-bdc)(DMF)2]n were obtained based on dianilineglyoxime (DAnH2), 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (1,3-bdcH2) and 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (1,4-bdcH2), where DMSO is dimethylsulfoxide and DMF is dimethylformamide. The molecular and crystalline structure of reported compounds were established by infrared spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction, and for 1, additionally, the 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy was used. According to data, the Zn(II) molecular complex is a binuclear and the Ni(II) is a 1D polymer compound.

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract: Four new {Cr8} rings have been synthesized and characterized; they are all based on the classic [CrF(O2CtBu)2]8 ring 1. Three routes have been studied. The first is direct synthesis, by reacting hydrated chromium(III) fluorides with the acid; this has been used to produce  [CrF(O2CEt)2]8 3. The second route uses 3 as a precursor and substitute with an incoming carboxylate. This has been used to make [CrF(O2CCCl3)2]8 4 and [CrF(O2CC6F5)2]8 5. The third route uses
N-ethyl-D-glucamine (H5Etglu) as a template and produces chiral rings [Cr8F4(Etglu)(O2CtBu)15] 6. The single crystal X-ray structures of these new compounds are reported.

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract:
Two new μ3-oxo trinuclear heterometallic Fe2IIICrIII complexes with furan-2-carboxylic and salicylic acids with the composition: [Fe2CrO(C4H3OCOO)6(CH3OH)3]NO3·0.5CH3OH and [Fe2CrO(C6H4(OH)COO)7(CH3OH)2]·2DMA were synthesized starting from iron(III) and chromium(III) salts mixture. The complexes structures were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, Mössbauer spectroscopies, and X-ray analysis. The atomic absorption spectroscopy confirmed that the iron: chromium ratio is 2:1. The thermal properties of both heteronuclear complexes have been investigated in oxidizing and inert atmospheres revealing the stability of the trinuclear core up to 170 and 220°C, respectively.

Graphical Abstract: The novel binuclear Zn(II) complex of general formula Zn2(L)4(CH3OH)2 where HL is N-[bis(benzylamino)phosphoryl]-2,2,2-trichloroacetamide has been synthesized from non-aqueous solution and characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy as well by X-ray single crystal diffraction. This complex represents the third example of binuclear complexes with this ligand within four known for today.

Abstract (PDF)
Graphical Abstract: A new tetra-homonuclear iron(III) cluster, [Fe4O2(Sal)4(H2O)6]·4DMA·0.75H2O, where Sal= salicylic acid and DMA= N,N-dimethylacetamide consolidated via two µ3-oxo- and four salicylate-bridges was synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopic method as well as by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The structure of the obtained tetranuclear compound consists of four FeIII atoms in a “butterfly” arrangement. The coordination sphere of each of the two central FeIII atoms is generated by two μ3-oxo-bridging atoms and four oxygen atoms provided by the tridentate-bridging Sal2- ligands, while the coordination polyhedron of another two iron atoms involve six oxygen atoms from three water molecules, two salicylic and one μ3-oxigen atom. The Fe-O distances within Fe-O-Fe bridge are of 2.102(3) Å (for wing-body) and 2.038(3) Å (for body-body).
